Prof. Sheryl Ehrman
Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering

Sheryl Ehrman received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1991, and her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1997. She presently is employed as an Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Chemical Engineering and as a participating faculty in both the Bioengineering and the Chemical Physics Graduate Programs at the University of Maryland, College Park. She has received the prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER award in 2001, as well as the Ralph Powre Young Faculty Award. Most recently, she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to support a sabbatical stay in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India. She is on the Board of Directors of the American Association for Aerosol Research, and a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, American Chemical Society, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Her teaching interests include particle technology, introductory engineering design, transport phenomena and thermodynamics. Her research interests include the study of nanoparticle formation and processing, as well as the transport and fate of particulate air pollution.
