About RARE Corporation
Rothfuss Advanced Research and Engineering was founded in 2006 by Dr. Heather Rothfuss and Dr. Christopher Rothfuss to bridge gaps between the scientific, political, and industrial aspects of new and emerging technologies. We currently offer a spectrum of short courses on nanotechnology directed towards professionals from the academic, government, and business communities. These intense short courses are designed to rapidly bring attendees up to speed in the topic areas, while accommodating a variety of backgrounds. Each course instructor is a recognized expert in the topic area, and will be available to students in the small class setting.
Dr. Heather Rothfuss
Dr. Heather Rothfuss is a consultant in science education, specifically teaching biology to engineering students with little or no background. Her interest is bringing disparate fields of science together for improved research and collaboration at the boundaries, particularly biology and the physical sciences. She is also interested in improving communication and boosting public and political understanding of emerging technologies. Towards this goal, she offers a course at the University of Wyoming's multi-disciplinary Honors Program to discuss political, scientific, and social issues associated with highly contentious cutting edge biological sciences including stem cell research, DNA profiling, and genetically modified foods. Heather obtained her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington in 2004 working primarily in applied molecular biology and genetic engineering. Her B.S. in Chemical Engineering was awarded from the University of Wyoming in 1996.
